A Scenic Design for a student-led production of Nick Payne's Constellations. The concept was designed in a minimalistic fashion to allow for a 200 euro budget and the quick transition between scenes and the story's different 'timelines'. As the play depicts a love story through the presentation of scenes through a multiverse of different realities, I chose to depict 'string theory' in a literal sense using string as the backdrop on a geometric frame. Arranging the string in a chaotic web was intended to convey the 'crossing of paths' as the two characters lives become intertwined. The design and colors used for the frame and the string were chosen to highlight lighting design as a major feature in transforming the space in different scenes.
